A BIG day for a BIG girl!!!! Aaron, a disabled veteran, drove over Wednesday from the Eugene area to meet Dixie. Aaron had started emailing us asking about Dixie a while back — we traded photos, behavioral evaluations, interviews, guesses at her breed: Ca de Bou, Boerboel, English bulldog/Staffordshire Terrier mix….Ultimately, none of that mattered because Aaron had fallen in love with Dixie's inner girl and proven he could take care of her. Dixie left us 6 months and 1 day after entering our shelter. There were smiles in our halls as Aaron loaded Dixie (no mean feat!) for the ride back home. Then when the first reports of love came to us, there was elation; Dixie had found her man. Below is Aaron's first report: "Hey, Brightside, me and Dixie are doing great home resting now. She is snoring — it is so sweet." Snoring? Sweet? Love you, Aaron and Dixie — safe travels together.
