A little patience, some great kids, and a lot of exercise goes a long way. Here is a recent note from the family who adopted Rio: "Rio has absolutely no anxiety with women anymore, kids walk all over him but men still get under his hair. However, he has made huge strides in just 4 months. He doesn't run and hide when men come over, rather stand 5-7 feet away and give them a "this is MY family" bark. But as soon as he hears one of us say "settle down" he gives up the bark and just stays a safe distance away. Most of our neighbors can easily walk right up to the house with a friendly dog greeting. To me that says a lot about how well he is doing as we have a few very "rough looking" male neighbors and he has learned that we trust them so he can trust them too. Attached a picture of his human side 🙂 Take care!"
