The shelter has some new Foster Parents! Bend's new Mt. Bachelor Memory Care Facility recently brought some staff and residents to visit BrightSide Animal Center …….and came away with three ten-day old kittens! Although they were cautioned that bottle kitties might not survive because of intense tiny-kitten critical needs, with the 24/7 care that the facility's residents shower on them, these little ones have thrived. Wonderful too is that the kittens in care have brought out magical change in their resident caregivers. The solitary residents come regularly to kitten play time. One resident, who came to the facility non-verbal, said while holding Pokey, “This is my favorite one.” They will continue to care for the kittens for 8 or so weeks, until they are old enough to be adopted into their forever homes. The kittens' human caregivers will be sad to see them go — but look forward to the next group! Pictured is one resident greeting her new kitty charge.
