We’re thrilled that you’re considering adopting your new best friend from BrightSide! Our staff is dedicated to making great matches and finding both you and the animals here the very best fit. You can check out our adoptable pets via the links below and, when someone special catches your eye we would love for you to come meet them! Or we welcome you to come into the shelter without someone specific in mind to let our adoption staff lead you in the right direction!
Our adoption process and requirements are as follows:
- You must be 18 years or older to adopt.
- You will need to bring some form of photo ID.
- Please ensure everyone in your home is on board with a new addition.
- When you arrive a member of our adoption staff will discuss with you what type of pet you’re looking for, any animals that you’re specifically interested in, and then introduce you to our pets! After meeting an animal and discussing all that we know about them, if you and your adoption counselor decide to move forward, you’ll fill out a quick adoption survey. From there your counselor will ensure you have all of your new pet’s records, documents, and any info you need to ensure as smooth of a transition into your home as possible. Then you’ll finalize the adoption and head home with your new best friend!
- If you are interested in adopting a dog and you already have a dog (or dogs) in your home, we can facilitate a dog-dog intro at the shelter if you choose. While these intros are not required for adoption, it can be very helpful to have our staff’s assistance to set everyone up for success! Please note that some dogs in our care who are selective with their friends might require a dog-dog intro with others in the home, but this will be noted in their profile.
- We do not offer cat-cat or cat-dog introductions here at the shelter due to the level of stress involved for cats. But our counselors are happy to share as much information as we have about each cat’s sociability levels to assist you in your decision!
- Please note that our adoption staff will make the final decision on whether an animal is adopted. While it is rare, if for any reason we do not feel that an adoption is the right match, we will not move forward. This is in the best interest of both the animal and you. But if one pet is not the right fit, we are always happy to help you find one that is!
Our Adoption Fees:
- Cats (4 months and older): $50
- Kittens (under 4 months): $175 – Kittens are BOGO 50% Off!
- Dogs (4 months and older): $100
- Puppies (under 4 months): $275
