The BrightSide Animal Center is dedicated to enriching the lives of displaced animals through quality care and adoption to responsible, loving homes. Thank you for your interest in becoming a BrightSide volunteer and helping us with our mission!

Please complete the application form to start the process in becoming a BrightSide Volunteer for either our Animals Center and/or Thrift Store/ Recycle Center.

If you would like to volunteer at both locations, please complete the Thrift Store application and during your orientation inform the Volunteer and Programs Manager so they can get the process started for both areas.

You can fill out an application at the shelter, 1355 NE Hemlock Ave., Tuesday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

VOLUNTEER ORIENTATION

When your application is received, the volunteer Manager will contact you with the time and date of the next session. At the orientation you will take a tour of the facility, meet the staff and other volunteers, and sign up for training.

TRAINING

Each opportunity to volunteer with animals requires some training. A member of the staff or a volunteer mentor will give you instructions and tips on how to do the jobs you have chosen. It’s important that you find a job that fits your skills and interests.
