CAT OF THE WEEK! Our CALVIN is such a unique and charming boy. He’s a big orange tabby who’s been camping out here since January of 2014 and he would really like to move on with his life. Calvin would prefer not to deal with the multitude of other cats here at the shelter, although he does enjoy making the rounds to clean up everyone else’s snack bowl. And though he does have a good sense of humor, he’s getting a little tired of customers asking if he’s pregnant. His head is just a bit too small for his body, that’s all. It’s not his fault. We think Calvin is about 9 or 10 years old now. He’s very independent and low maintenance, so he would be fine in a home where his owners leave for work everyday. He will wait patiently to greet you when you arrive back home – just please leave some food out when you go. As an added bonus, should you have mice problems, Calvin has proven himself to be a good mouser during his stay here at Brightside. Calvin has the loudest purr of any cat in our shelter and will demonstrate any time you’re ready to give him some pets. He would be most happy in an indoor only home with no other cats and no pesky young children. He would probably adjust ok to a mellow dog that didn’t want too much of his attention. He doesn’t like to move too quickly, ergo does not care to chase or be chased. A nice cozy bed by a sunny window would make him a very happy boy. Come on in and meet Calvin. This quirky, sometimes cranky, but genuinely sweet- natured boy, is ready to find his new best friend.
