CAT OF THE WEEK! Sweetie boy, GEORGE, is fairly new here at BrightSide. He was turned in as a stray back in May. But wait… he had a microchip, so we had hope of getting him back home again. When we called his owners, they informed us that he had been gone for over 4 years. What???? They intended to come in and get him, but it was not to be. They have 2 resident cats in the home now and their vet advised them that it would not be a good idea to bring George back at this time. Of course that was disappointing. But we understand that people need to move on. You can’t really expect a person to survive for over 4 years without a cat in their life. That’s just too depressing. So George will wait here until another family desperately in need of a cat companion comes along. Then like a knight in shining armor, he will come to the rescue and brighten their world. We think George is probably about 8 yrs old now. Although he was ‘lost’ for several years, it is obvious that he was well taken care of during that time. He is a beautiful, shorthaired, brown tabby with a sporty little bobtail. He has a quiet, mellow disposition and gets along fine with the other cats here in the shelter. He is very social and loves attention from people of all ages. He could be indoor/outdoor, if necessary, but please don’t let him get lost again. He’s been through quite enough already. George will make a perfect family cat – so forget about adopting that clueless little kitten you think you want. Just get in here and meet George!
